Softball Recap: IC Catholic Prep Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

IC Catholic Prep had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Payton College Prep Grizzlies with a sharp 7-1 win. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Aniella Talluto spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sofia Bucaro was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Bucaro is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelynn Dinino, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

IC Catholic Prep's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Payton College Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: IC Catholic Prep beat the Grizzlies by a score of 13-4 later that day.
