Softball Recap: DuBois Central Catholic Victorious

While DuBois Central Catholic's victory against Moniteau wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since June 13, 2024.

The result came thanks to Rylee Kulbatsky's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lily Davidson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiki Foster, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances.

The win got DuBois Central Catholic back to even at 9-9. As for Moniteau, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Looking ahead, DuBois Central Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Mercer at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. Moniteau does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
