Allen's four state titles enough to stand above the Lone Star State in 2010s.

Video: Kyler Murray highlights
Allen won three-straight state titles from 2012-2014.

In a state where football is king, Allen stands above the rest as the most dominant high school football program of the past decade.

Allen owns four state titles  in the 2010s, finishing 16-0 three times — 2013, 2014, and 2016 — and twice ending as the nation's No. 2 team.

Sitting behind the Eagles are Aledo and Katy, finishing tied at No. 2. Aledo was in a state title game eight of the past 10 years, winning seven. Katy won four straight titles and finished in the state Top 25 all 10 years.

While state titles were an important part of the point system, we also included where a team finished in the state Top 25 and national Top 25. This rewards teams for playing a tough overall schedule.

Our methodology includes:

• Top 25 finishes in the MaxPreps state computer rankings (25 points awarded to the No. 1 team, 24 for No. 2 and so on).

• Top 25 finishes in the MaxPreps national computer rankings (50 points for No. 1, 49 for No. 2 and so on).

• State championships (20 points).

• State championship game appearances (10 points).
