Baseball Recap: Melrose-Mindoro Beats Weston for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Melrose-Mindoro lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Weston, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's contest. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Silver Eagles on Saturday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by nine runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Eric Herzberg, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Brewer Schlifer also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The victory (which was Melrose-Mindoro's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Weston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
