Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Adelyn Althaus and Vanessa Cross Lead Bluffton to Victory

Bluffton's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Pandora-Gilboa Rockets. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won eight in a row.

Bluffton never let Pandora-Gilboa on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-17.

Bluffton was led to victory by Vanessa Cross and Adelyn Althaus. Cross had 16 digs and three aces, while Althaus had 14 assists. Cross has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Bluffton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Bluffton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Pandora-Gilboa, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Bluffton will be playing in front of their home fans against Miller City at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pandora-Gilboa, they will head out on the road to face off against Allen East at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
