Softball Game Preview: Putnam County Panthers vs. Stark County Rebels

Putnam County has gone a perfect 3-0 against Stark County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Panthers will face off against the Rebels at 4:30 p.m. Putnam County will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, it was close, but Putnam County sidestepped Annawan-Wethersfield for a 7-6 victory.

Meanwhile, Stark County didn't have quite enough to beat Annawan-Wethersfield on Saturday and fell 3-2.

Stark County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cambri Holmstrom, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Holmstrom also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season.

Stark County's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Putnam County, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Everything went Putnam County's way against Stark County in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, as Putnam County made off with a 10-3 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
