Football Recap: Dixon Takes a Loss

Dixon had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it five. They were outmatched by the Sutter Huskies and fell 62-12. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 643rd, while the Huskies are ranked 153rd).

As for Sutter, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 56.7 points this season.

Leading Sutter to victory were Braden Scritchfield and Losi Asiata. Scritchfield threw for 224 yards and two TDs on only 14 passes, while Asiata rushed for 194 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries. Asiata's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Gary Bicknell, who gained 90 total yards and a touchdown.

Dixon will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Sutter, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against El Camino at 7:15 p.m.
