Drake Williams Delivers Best Effort of Season

Benjamin Davis came up short on Thursday despite Drake Williams delivering his best game to date. Williams rushed for 177 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run.

With the defeat, Benjamin Davis broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3. Williams and Benjamin Davis will face off against Nimitz at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Spring's Losing Streak Is No More Thanks to Kannon Charles

Spring's six-game losing streak dating back to last season is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Kannon Charles. Charles was dynamite on Saturday, making six total tackles and snagged two interceptions which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Spring's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. Charles' next match is against MacArthur on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

Merrico Phillips Turns in Another Game with at Least Six Total Tackles

Spring's six-game losing streak dating back to last season is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Merrico Phillips. Phillips wasn't messing around on Saturday, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles (3.0 for loss). The game was his fourth straight with six or more total tackles dating back to last season.

For the season, Phillips has averaged 8.2 total tackles per game and for the season has 2.5 sacks. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had 0.5 sacks.
