Madison Academy extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-1. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 57-56 W against the North Jackson Chiefs. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 18-12 win the Chiefs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

As for North Jackson, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (49), they still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why North Jackson lost, don't look at Nick Price Jr.. Despite the final result, he rushed for 367 yards and three scores while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Price Jr. is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 130 every time he's taken the field this season. Haven Massengile also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.

Coming up, Madison Academy will take on New Hope at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for North Jackson, they will challenge Plainview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chiefs will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups.
