Baseball Recap: Wakulla Sets Scoring Season-High Against Brookwood

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wakulla). They put the hurt on the Brookwood Warriors with a sharp 15-5 victory on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the War Eagles considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Owen Klees made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Klees was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February.

In other pitching news, Brody Beam looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

Back at the plate, Josiah Pierini was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Bruce, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Wakulla's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Brookwood, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

Wakulla wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-5 loss against North Florida Christian on the 17th. As for Brookwood, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-0 defeat against Deerfield-Windsor on the 14th.
