West Monroe and Pineville are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. West Monroe will be playing in front of their home fans against Pineville at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, West Monroe made easy work of Ruston and carried off a 14-2 victory.

Meanwhile, Pineville never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Ouachita Parish 7-0. The win was nothing new for the Rebels as they're now sitting on six straight.

Not much got past Addalyn Burch, who gave up just six hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Ouachita Parish off the board. Those 11 strikeouts gave Burch a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Briley Byrnes was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Madalyn Halle, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Pineville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive games.

Pineville's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for West Monroe, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.
