Basketball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Marshall lost against Newton back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Marshall Lions were beaten by the Newton Eagles 51-18. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Marshall has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Newton, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

While Marshall had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th.
