Recap: Potlatch Loggers vs. Lapwai Wildcats
After a string of 12 wins dating back to last season, the Potlatch Loggers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 57-45 to Lapwai. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Potlatch in their matchups with Lapwai: they've now lost eight in a row.
Lapwai's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kase Wynott, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 12 rebounds, and ten assists. Wynott is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Ahlius Yearout was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds.
Potlatch's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-1. As for Lapwai, their victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
Potlatch will take on Logos at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Logos' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Lapwai, they will head out on the road to square off against Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Prairie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Lapwai is ranked 15th).
