Football Recap: Lakeside Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Lakeside extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were beaten by the Effingham County Rebels 42-10. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Rebels are ranked 125th).

John Allen Williamson threw for 96 yards and one touchdown. Issac Sherman was his top target, picking up 54 receiving yards. On the ground, Charlie Bower rushed for 48 yards.

As for Effingham County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season.

Jmere Doe-Davis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 119 yards and a pair of scores, while also catching one TD. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. Another back making a difference was Jr Mckenzie, who rushed for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries.

Lakeside didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 36-29 loss against Statesboro on the 3rd. As for Effingham County, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Evans at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th. The Rebels will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
