Basketball Recap: Elizabeth Falls Short Against Ranked Plainfield

On Tuesday, Elizabeth faced Plainfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Elizabeth Minutemen fell 69-61 to the Plainfield Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, with their most recent loss being a 67-51 defeat back in January.

Elizabeth's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Plainfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-2.

Coming up, Elizabeth will head out on the road to square off against St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Elizabeth has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 201 points over their last three contests. As for Plainfield, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals take on the Panthers on February 27th.
