Baseball Game Preview: Mission Bears vs. Lincoln Mustangs

Mission hasn't had much luck against Lincoln recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bears will head out on the road to take on the Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. Mission has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mission is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They lost 14-4 to Priory. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by exactly ten runs.

Diego Ramirez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Noe Zuleta, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Lincoln beat Lick-Wilmerding 7-2 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Jerry Hou was excellent, earning two runs and four stolen bases. Lincoln is 4-1 when Hou posts two or more stolen bases, but 8-11 otherwise.

The win got Lincoln back to even at 12-12. As for Mission, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.

Mission came up short against Lincoln in their previous matchup back in March, falling 7-3. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
