Basketball Game Preview: Stover Bulldogs vs. Northwest Mustangs

The Stover Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Northwest Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stover will be looking to extend their current 16-game winning streak.

In Tuesday's Canine Competition, Stover prevailed. They blew past Windsor 55-23 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Ashlyn Pinzke, who posted 23 points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals. Teagan Morris was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Stover smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Northwest beat Cole Camp 35-24 on Tuesday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Blue Birds are ranked 441st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stover's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Northwest, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.

Stover strolled past Northwest in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a score of 46-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stover since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
