Volleyball Recap: Appleton North Comes Up Short

Appleton North lost against Waukesha West back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lightning fell 2-0 to the Wolverines.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-11.

Appleton North's offense was headlined by Lydia Koshuta and Alivia Barker, who picked up five kills apiece. Koshuta really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 17.

Leading Waukesha West to victory were Gracie Fregien and Dahlia Cyskiewicz. Fregien had six digs and four aces, while Cyskiewicz had five aces. What's more, Fregien posted four assists, the most she's had over her last five matchups.

Appleton North's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-23. As for Waukesha West, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.

Appleton North has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Catholic Memorial on the 27th. As for Waukesha West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 win against West Bend East on the 27th.
