Baseball Game Preview: Providence Panthers vs. Weddington Warriors

The Providence Panthers will challenge the Weddington Warriors on Friday. Providence will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Providence is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Southwest Guilford. Five seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Weddington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out South Mecklenburg 2-0.

Weddington is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Providence, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-6.

Providence came out on top in a nail-biter against Weddington in their previous matchup back in February, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
