Baseball Recap: Milledgeville Missiles vs. Amboy Clippers

Milledgeville had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 7-12 to make it four. They lost 9-1 to the Amboy Clippers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Clippers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 on Tuesday.

As for Amboy, they now have a winning record of 11-10. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly eight runs.

For Amboy's part, Carson Barlow made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Barlow is becoming a predictor of Amboy's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Barlow was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.
