Volleyball Game Preview: Bishop Hendricken Hawks vs. North Smithfield Northmen

The Bishop Hendricken Hawks will challenge the North Smithfield Northmen at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Bishop Hendricken lost 3-0 to North Kingstown on Monday. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Skippers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Bishop Hendricken was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-14, 25-22.

Meanwhile, North Smithfield came up short against Cranston West on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Northmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While North Smithfield was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Cranston West's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-16, 25-18.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bishop Hendricken fell to 3-1. As for North Smithfield, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Bishop Hendricken couldn't quite get it done against North Smithfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
