Football Game Preview: Baker Buffaloes vs. Slaughter Community Charter Knights

The Baker Buffaloes will take on the Slaughter Community Charter Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Baker will be strutting in after a victory while Slaughter Community Charter will be coming in after a loss.

While Baker's win against Capitol wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Buffaloes narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Lions 17-14. The Buffaloes haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Slaughter Community Charter lost 30-6 to Episcopal on Friday. The matchup marked Slaughter Community Charter's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Slaughter Community Charter saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brannigan Givens rushed for 143 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Givens was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.

Slaughter Community Charter's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2. As for Baker, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-4.
