Baseball Recap: Palmer Terrors vs. Canon City Tigers

Palmer extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-14 in the process. They fell 6-3 to the Canon City Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-1 on Tuesday.

Raymond Roldan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Another player making a difference was Dyson Sharpton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

As for Canon City, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games.

On Canon City's side, John Vendetti looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Tanner Leonard was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Eric Chavez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Looking ahead, Palmer will challenge Widefield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gladiators will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Terrors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Canon City, they will face off against Cheyenne Mountain at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
