Baseball Recap: Thomas Jefferson vs. Maurepas Wolves

Thomas Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maurepas Wolves.

Gunnar Dupre was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Dupre was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Josh Sullivan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Thomas Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomas Jefferson will challenge East St. John at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maurepas, they will take on Haynes Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
