Soccer Game Preview: Honaker vs. Virginia High

The Honaker Tigers will face off against the Virginia High Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Honaker managed to slip by Central Wise the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Tigers came up short against the Warriors two weeks ago, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Honaker can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 177th, while Central Wise are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Virginia High, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Marion get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Thursday.

Virginia High's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Honaker, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-1.
