Baseball Recap: St. Luke's Episcopal Takes a Loss

St. Luke's Episcopal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 10-5 to the Satsuma Gators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-1 back in March.

Colton Duke put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Duke was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Jathan Richardson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of St. Luke's Episcopal's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 9-3 (and 2-10 when he doesn't). Jayden Steiner also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

St. Luke's Episcopal's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Satsuma, their record now sits at 18-11.

As of now, neither St. Luke's Episcopal nor the Gators have any future games scheduled.
