Baseball Game Preview: Ketcham Storm vs. John Jay Patriots

For the second straight game, Ketcham will face off against John Jay. The Storm will host the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Ketcham 3.1, John Jay 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Ketcham is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New York's top teams: John Jay, who was ranked first at the time (Ketcham was ranked second). The Storm fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-1 on Monday. The Storm's defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

For John Jay's part, they got a great performance from Landon Seipp as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Seipp has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Austin Seipp was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Vinny Angioletti, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

John Jay's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Ketcham, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 14-3.
