Softball Recap: Southeast Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Southeast's offense. They came up short against the Cardinal Mooney Cougars on Thursday, falling 15-0. The Seminoles have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Southeast saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reina Mendoza, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Cardinal Mooney, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast will head out to take on Lakewood at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Seminoles are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Cardinal Mooney, they will venture away from home to square off against Riverview Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 1.1 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
