Softball Game Preview: Collierville Dragons vs. Houston Mustangs

The Collierville Dragons will take on the Houston Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Houston took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Collierville, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Collierville made easy work of Briarcrest Christian and carried off a 15-1 victory. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 15-8 to Tipton-Rosemark Academy.

Houston got a big performance out of Ella McKnight, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Kaylea Howell was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Collierville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Houston, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Collierville skirted past Houston 3-1 when the teams last played last Monday. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
