Baseball Recap: Adams Central Gets the Win

Adams Central's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Heritage Patriots. The Flying Jets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Adams Central got a great performance from Jami Roach as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Roach also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Flying Jets are 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Ethan Funk was excellent, getting on base in four of his eight plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Joey Everett was another key player, going 2-for-8 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Adams Central now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Heritage, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3.

Adams Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-3 loss against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers on the 12th. As for Heritage, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-6 defeat against Columbia City on the 10th.
