Baseball Recap: Wynford Find Success

While Wynford's victory against Carey wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Royals narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Blue Devils 3-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Royals as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brayden Campbell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has become a key player for Wynford: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 2-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Hunter Routson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Wynford's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Carey, their record now sits at 7-6.

Wynford will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Devils: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
