Delta dropped to 10-15 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Providence Hall Patriots by a score of 9-7. The Rabbits were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 13-3.
Kate Chase was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Joslyn Christiansen, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
As for Providence Hall, the victory snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 2-13 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 8, 2025.
On Providence Hall's side, Taycee Metts made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. Metts has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Londyn Schaffer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Rylee McMillan was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Coming up, Delta will challenge Parowan at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Providence Hall, they will take on Hunter at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 12.3 runs per game this season.
