Softball Recap: Menchville's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Menchville dropped their record down to 15-7 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Granby Comets. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Monarchs were not able to get on the board.

As for Granby, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

For Granby's part, the result came thanks to Kyrsten Wells's shutout, as she gave up just two hits. Wells has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Anwynn Williams was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Menchville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Granby, they will face off against Kecoughtan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something the Comets surely won't give up without a fight.
