Volleyball Recap: Lathrop Victorious + How To Watch

The Lathrop Malemutes beat the North Pole Patriots 3-1 on Thursday.

Lathrop walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-18, 13-25, 25-12, 25-19.

Lathrop can attribute much of their success to Priscilla Wang, who had five digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Wang a new career-high in assists (20). Annika Vockeroth also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Lathrop was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 15 consecutive games.

Lathrop's victory bumped their record up to 10-11-6. As for North Pole, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9-1.

Looking ahead, Lathrop will square off against Palmer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Pole, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Nome-Beltz at 4:30 p.m. on October 3.
