Basketball Recap: Longview Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Greenville Christian last Friday, Longview Christian came back down to earth. Longview Christian took a 43-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Christian Heritage Sentinels on Tuesday. Longview Christian hasn't had much luck with Christian Heritage recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Longview Christian lost, don't look at Gentry Parker. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 boards. With that strong performance, Parker is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game.

Longview Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Christian Heritage, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Longview Christian will head out to face off against Poetry Community Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Longview Christian's defense has only allowed 23.8 points per game this season, so Poetry Community Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Christian Heritage, they are taking a road trip to challenge Greenville Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian Heritage is facing Greenville Christian at the right time seeing as Greenville Christian is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
