Soccer Game Preview: Rolling Meadows vs. Palatine

The Rolling Meadows Mustangs will face off against the Palatine Pirates at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Rolling Meadows' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Rolling Meadows' defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They beat Riverside-Brookfield by a goal, winning 1-0. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Rolling Meadows' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Riverside-Brookfield are ranked 240th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palatine). They put the hurt on Wheeling with a sharp 7-0 win on Friday. Palatine haven't had any issues with Wheeling recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Palatine's offense was hitting Wheeling from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal.

Rolling Meadows has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Palatine, their win bumped their record up to 5-1-2.
