The Mountlake Terrace Hawks will face off against the Lake Stevens Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Mountlake Terrace has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with five straight losses, while Lake Stevens will come in with three straight victories.
On Friday, Mountlake Terrace came up short against Archbishop Murphy and fell 14-10.
Jordyn Stokes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Brown, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Lake Stevens got themselves on the board against Arlington on Friday, but Arlington never followed suit. They blew past the Eagles 9-0.
The result came thanks to Charli Pugmire's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on McKenna Richer, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Reese Breckenridge was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Lake Stevens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arlington only posted a batting average of .042.
Lake Stevens' win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Mountlake Terrace, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Mountlake Terrace hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lake Stevens struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
