Basketball Recap: Liberty Tree Academy War Eagles vs. Simla Cubs
Liberty Tree Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 74-31 loss at the hands of the Simla Cubs. The War Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-18.
Despite the loss, Liberty Tree Academy still got an impressive performance from Oscar Sorensen, who posted six points. Sorensen continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Michael Coleman also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
Simla got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caston Cox out in front who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Liberty Tree Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Simla, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Liberty Tree Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Twin Peaks Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Simla, they will challenge Idalia at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Simla is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.6 points per game this season.
