Preview: Clear Lake Falcons vs. Clear Brook Wolverines
Clear Lake is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Clear Brook is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Clear Lake Falcons will take on the Clear Brook Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Clear Lake has not done well against Clear Creek recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Clear Lake had just enough and edged Clear Creek out 41-38. The victory was all the more spectacular given Clear Lake's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 606th, while Clear Creek is ranked 285th).
Meanwhile, Clear Brook didn't have too much trouble with Clear Falls at home on Wednesday as they won 45-31. The win was just what Clear Brook needed coming off of a 90-50 defeat in their prior contest.
Clear Lake is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-15 record this season. As for Clear Brook, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-14.
Clear Lake couldn't quite finish off Clear Brook in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 and fell 68-65. Can Clear Lake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
