Softball Recap: Center Takes a Loss

Center came into this matchup off a tough 13-run loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Diboll Lumberjacks by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. The Roughriders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lumberjacks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Center has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. Diboll's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Center will welcome Hudson at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Hudson's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Center's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Diboll, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Newton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Newton has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.43 runs per game on average), something Diboll will no doubt try to take advantage of.
