Baseball Recap: Jefferson Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

While Jefferson's win against East Bay wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jefferson Dragons' pitchers stepped up to hand the East Bay Indians a 1-0 shutout on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Dragons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jefferson's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Logan Galban, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

The win made it two in a row for Jefferson and bumps their season record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for East Bay, they moved to 7-6 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Jefferson and East Bay could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Jefferson will challenge Bloomingdale at 7:00 p.m. on Monday down 137 places (219 vs. 82). Similarly, East Bay (ranked 350th) will meet Gaither (ranked 155th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
