Football Game Preview: Barnsdall Panthers vs. Woodland Cougars

The Barnsdall Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Woodland Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Barnsdall has given up an average of 25.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Barnsdall is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 37 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Fairland on Friday. They were dealt a 41-6 defeat at the hands of the Owls. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodland). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 52-6 win over Porter. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Pirates are ranked 242nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Having lost for the first time this season, Barnsdall fell to 3-1. As for Woodland, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Barnsdall was dealt a bruising 62-15 loss at the hands of Woodland when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Panthers were down 56-0.
