Softball Game Preview: Episcopal Knights vs. Fort Bend Christian Academy Eagles

The Episcopal Knights will square off against the Fort Bend Christian Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Episcopal barely beat St. Pius X the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Episcopal was the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over St. Pius X on Tuesday. Considering the Knights have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, while Fort Bend Christian Academy put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Second Baptist. Fort Bend Christian Academy put the hurt on Second Baptist with a sharp 10-0 victory.

The team relied heavily on Ella Romo, who scored four runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Moore, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Fort Bend Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Episcopal pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Fort Bend Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 8-8-1.

Everything went Episcopal's way against Fort Bend Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Episcopal made off with a 22-0 win. Will Episcopal repeat their success, or does Fort Bend Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
