East Columbus entered their tilt with Fairmont on Monday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Golden Tornadoes 10-1. Considering the Gators have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Gracie Coyle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jenna King, who went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sara Coleman, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

East Columbus pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fairmont, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

East Columbus will venture away from home to square off against Scotland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairmont, they will take on Lumberton in a tournament on Tuesday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.65 runs per game on average), something the Golden Tornadoes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
