Recap: Greenwich Cardinals vs. St. Joseph Cadets
The Greenwich Cardinals put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down St. Joseph 23-9. That's another feather in the cap for Greenwich, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Greenwich's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rocco Grillo, who rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 106 yards and a touchdown. Greenwich also got a significant boost from George Vomvolakis, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.
Greenwich pushed their record up to 9-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.8 points per game. As for St. Joseph, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Greenwich will head out on the road to face off against Westhill at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Westhill is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for St. Joseph, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Danbury at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
