Softball Recap: Lennox Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

Lennox Academy's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Hawthorne on Thursday. The Panthers blew past the Compton Early College Rising Phoenix 12-1. Considering the Panthers have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Michel Estrada was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Stacey Torres, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Lennox Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lennox Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.3 runs. As for Compton Early College, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-5.

Coming up, Lennox Academy will square off against Marymount at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Compton Early College, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Animo Leadership at 2:00 p.m. on May 1.
