Meridian is 8-2 against Shepherd since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Meridian Mustangs will look to defend their home court against the Shepherd Bluejays at 7:30 p.m. Meridian will be strutting in after a victory while Shepherd will be coming in after a loss.

Meridian took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They secured a 45-41 W over Beaverton.

Meanwhile, Shepherd was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 48-42 to Standish-Sterling. The defeat continues a trend for the Bluejays in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

The win got Meridian back to even at 6-6. As for Shepherd, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Everything came up roses for Meridian against Shepherd in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 69-39 victory. Will Meridian repeat their success, or does Shepherd have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
