Basketball Recap: Chett Vaughan Key Part of a Team Effort in Trojans Win

Cumby's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Yantis Owls 77-52. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 25 points or more this season.

Cumby's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chett Vaughan, who went 8 for 17 en route to 24 points and six boards. The contest was Vaughan's 29th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakari Johnson, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 17 points.

Cumby smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Cumby is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-13 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 45 points. As for Yantis, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 20-10 record this season.

Cumby has already played their next contest (against Como-Pickton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Yantis has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy.
