Football Game Preview: Spoto Spartans vs. Leto Falcons

Spoto is 0-3 against Leto since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Spartans will square off against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Spoto took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let Blake get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leto). They blew past Middleton 20-0 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Leto found their leader in sophomore Sanaai Taylor, who rushed for 37 yards and one TD, and also threw for 24 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Taylor didn't just play on offense: she also made two total tackles and defended two passes.

Spoto's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.5 points on average over those games. As for Leto, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-12.

Spoto came up short against Leto in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 6-0. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
