Baseball Recap: Millburn Comes Up Short

Millburn was the 3-0 winner over South Plainfield when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Millers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Millers have suffered against the Tigers since April 22, 2017.

Keigo Fujita was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI. Brett Ploetner was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Millburn's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for South Plainfield, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Millburn didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-2 loss against West Orange on the 14th. As for South Plainfield, they will challenge Monroe Township at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
